THE SPANISH NATIONAL BALLET
Teatro Principal, Alicante
January 19 and 20
The Ballet Nacional de España (BNE), directed by Antonio Najarro since September 2011, is currently the greatest exponent of Spanish dance, showing all styles of dance in our country’s most outstanding theatres, and around the world through very different shows that include tradition and avant-garde, bolero, Spanish classical dance, folklore and flamenco. These are choreographies in which the director invites young guest choreographers with very different personalities and dance aesthetics with the main objective of disseminating and preserving our dance, and covering a wider audience. It also gives prominence to the repertoire of Spanish Dance, recovering pieces such as: Medea, Grito, Ritmos, Bolero (J. Granero), Paso a Cuatro, Farruca, Viva Navarra and Jota de la Dolores. After the homage paid to R. Aguilar, he has also added the Bolero to the Ballet repertoire. This is a great oportunity to see Spanish dance at its best.
In this show, you will be able to see the Farruca, Soleá del Mantón
Bolero, and the Suite Sevilla Flamenco.
